College Night at the Museum of Science

Haven’t been to the Museum of Science since your Brandeis Orientation? Or just been busy with the first few papers of the year? This college night is the perfect excuse to leave campus and celebrate the first day of Fall. Expect a night filled with music, art, science, and obviously tons of college students like yourself. Some highlights include live animal shows and Boston Duck tours. All of this is free with your Brandeis ID!

  • Where: Museum of Science

  • How to Get There: Take the Brandeis Boston shuttle to the Newbury St. / Back Bay stop. From there, hop on the Green Line at Copley and get off at Science Park/West End

Fluff Festival

Spend your first Saturday of Fall celebrating the 100th anniversary of Marshmallow Fluff. Marshmallow Fluff was first invented in 1917 in Somerville, MA (just an Uber ride away from downtown). To celebrate, events such as fluff jousting, a fluff lick off, and a performance by the Flufferettes are just some of the things you will find at the Fluff festival. Bring your friends and your sweet tooth for this unique food festival!

  • Get There: Take the Brandeis Boston shuttle to Harvard Square, from there it’s an easy 20 minute walk through the Harvard campus and along Kirkland st. to Union Square. If you spent the day exploring Cambridge, you can also call an Uber that will get you there in just about 10 minutes.

Self Guided Fall Foliage Nature Walk

Feeling overwhelmed with midterms? Take a study break and head to the Arnold Arboretum for a peaceful nature walk. Let the crisp autumn air clear your mind and soak up the foliage and last greenery before winter hits New England. For an extra special treat, pick up your favorite hot drink before your stroll. When you get back to campus, your brain will be refocused and ready to ace those midterms!

  • When: when the semester is getting to be just a lil’ too much. (peak foliage time is mid-October)

  • Where: Arnold Arboretum

  • Get There: Take the Brandeis Boston shuttle to the Newbury St./ Back Bay stop, from there get on the Orange Line at Back Bay and take it to Forest Hills which will drop you off right at the corner of the arboretum

Head of the Charles Regatta

The Head of the Charles Regatta has made quite the name for itself and is the rowing event of the season! Grab your favorite fall drinks and treats (the seasonal lattes at Tatte in Harvard Square are SO good) and find a spot along the Dr. Paul Dudley White bike path to watch this famous Boston sporting event. Really feeling the Judges spirit? Wear your Brandeis gear and support our rowing team in their race at 1:30pm on Saturday October 21st!

  • Get There: Take the Brandeis shuttle to Harvard Square use the Anderson Memorial bridge for an easy 20 minute walk to accessible viewing points

Pumpkin Palooza

Spend your Saturday of Halloweekend hanging out at the Pumpkin Palooza. The event will feature lawn games, glowing swings, music, food, and halloween-themed activities. A great way to get in the spooky spirit!

  • Get There: Take the Brandeis shuttle to Harvard Square, hop on the red line and take it to Broadway. From there, it’s a quick 15 minute walk to the Lawn on D park.
