If there is one thing the writers here at Her Campus know how to do, it’s how to shop for amazing deals. So naturally, Black Friday is one of our favorite days of the year. Interested in how we did it? Editor-in-Chief Andrea Stern made sure she woke up early in order to beat the crowds at her local mall. “I woke up at 7:30 and was at the mall by 8. My best deals of the day were two striped cashmere sweaters from Bloomingdales that are not only comfortable and perfect for winter but also classic. This was one of the few times I went to a store with something particular in mind that I wanted to buy and actually found it- especially at such a major discount! It was definitely worth losing a couple hours of sleep in order to get them.”
Black Friday is an annual adventure for Shayna Straus. “I love Black Friday! I look forward to it every year. This year I went to Bloomingdales with my sister and we practically spent the whole day there. It was definitely crazy but I don’t think I’ll need to buy a new sweater for a few years!”
Yours truly also braved the insanity of Black Friday shopping at Bloomingdales. My goal was to find sweaters and pants that would keep me warm during the chilly New England months ahead. I was beyond happy when I found Aqua sweaters and J-Brand corduroys on sale. However, my best deal was a French Connection dress that I bought for nearly half the price. Although I didn’t wake up at the crack of dawn, my post-Thanksgiving shopping experience was ultimately a success. Now to start planning for next year!
