Lizzie Koshelev ’18

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brandeis chapter.

Year: 2018

Hometown: Chicago, IL

Major/Minor: Double Major in Physics and Computer Science

Her Campus: What attracted you to Brandeis?

Lizzie Koshelev: It was between Oberlin and Brandeis, and ultimately I chose Brandeis because of Boston, and the fact that my sister lives in Cambridge.

HC: What activities are you involved in on campus?

LK: I’m in the A capella group “Rather Be Giraffes,” I’m in Pottery Club, and I play co-ed volleyball.

HC: What are your goals for the new school year?

LK: I really want to figure out if I want to do robotics and try to get an internship in the field over the summer.

HC: What’s your advice for incoming freshmen?

LK: Don’t be scared to make mistakes. If you live too safely you’ll always wonder what could have been if you’d gone out and done more.

HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

LK: I see myself travelling the world and writing music with a stable job in robotics.

Favorite Boston Attraction: The aquarium, because they have cuttlefish, which are pretty much the coolest animals on the planet.

Prized Possession: My prized possession is my piano keyboard that I got as a graduation present.

Guilty Pleasure: I had a Justin Bieber phase.

Mya is a sophomore at Brandeis University. She is an Education major with minors in African and Afro-American Studies and Anthropology. When she’s not writing, you can find Mya playing for the Brandeis women’s soccer team or attempting to navigate Boston. She also enjoys dancing and is a firm believer that what she lacks in technique she can make up in enthusiasm. She’s originally from sunny South Florida and can frequently be seen sporting her winter coat indoors. Follow her on Instagram @myagoodman for sporadic postings of her life!
I am a double major in Anthropology and International/Global Studies with a minor in Creativity, the Arts, and Social Transformation at Brandeis University. As a native Southern Californian, I have a born passion for avocados and an innate dread of cold weather. In my free time I love cooking (with avocados of course), drawing and writing.
