Her Campus: Why did you decide to go to Brandeis?
Brittany Wolfe: As cheesy as it sounds, I had good vibes from the moment I walked onto campus during my visit junior year of high school. I loved the community feel, the opportunities to get involved in such a wide variety of activities, and flexibility of the curriculum. I also really appreciated the emphasis on social justice and subsequent volunteer opportunities on campus. I absolutely love working with kids and I was really excited to see that the Waltham Group had programs where Brandeis students could volunteer at local elementary schools, tutor, and mentor elementary students.
HC: How did you first get involved with Her Campus?
BW: I was an editor on my high school newspaper and was really interested in writing for one of Brandeis’ many publications. I stumbled across a Her Campus link and from that moment on, I checked HC for new articles nearly every day. The rest is history!
HC: What else are you involved in on campus?
BW: I am a student ambassador, a writer for Spoon University, volunteer with ELL (English Language Learning Initiative), participate in intramural sports (shout out to my Freshies!), and was currently accepted as a mentor for Big Siblings!Â
HC: Why do you write for Her Campus?
BW: Her Campus gives me the opportunity to write nonchalantly about topics and advice that I find really interesting. I try to use my personal experiences to write articles that are enjoyable and relatable for the readers.Â
HC: What is your favorite part about Brandeis?
BW: That’s a pretty loaded question! My favorite part about Brandeis is the community of exceptional students and professors. I have met so many incredibly amazing and talented students and faculty. The diversity of the student body is exceptional and has allowed me insight into issues of global importance as well as other cultural traditions. I also love how accessible my professors have been and how passionate they are about courses that they teach. Lastly…I’m obsessed with all of the desserts in the dining halls!
HC: What is something you wish you could’ve done at campus that you ended up not doing?
BW: Part of me wishes that I had joined an A Capella group! But I’m not all too worried; I have three years ahead of me to do so!
HC: What do you want to do after Brandeis?
BW: I’m not all too sure yet. I plan to go to graduate school and would love to work at a public relations agency or with Teach for America!
