Her Campus: Why did you decide to go to Brandeis?
Niki Laskaris: I wanted a university with competitive academics and competitive athletics.
HC: How did you first get involved with Her Campus?
NL: At the beginning of this [fall] semester I saw a post on Facebook advertising writing positions for Her Campus. I submitted a few samples and joined the team the following week!
HC: What else are you involved in on campus?
NL: I’m on the basketball team, I’m a chatter at admissions, and I’m also a member of several clubs like BTV and Poetry; however, during the winter, basketball consumes most of my time! (I’ve been missing a lot of club meetings)
HC: Why do you write for Her Campus?
NL: I love keeping a personal blog, and so this year I was attracted to Her Campus’ interesting site by one of the blog articles. Her Campus has the perfect blend of professional and amusing material. I wanted to be a part of the fun!
HC: What is your favorite part about Brandeis?
NL: I really enjoy having such erudite professors—every day, in each class, I hear/learn something profound.
HC: What is something you wish you could’ve done at campus that you ended up not doing?
NL: Find. Graffiti. Room. and/or the subterranean passageway linking East and Usen Castle.
HC: If you could say something to your freshman self what would it be?
NL: Wow… haaaaaa. I would tell myself: “Continue being crazy because, people will get used to it.” (What I did) (People are not really that used to it)
HC: What do you want to do after Brandeis?
NL: I want to travel Europe (habite à Paris) and write novels. Hopefully they do well so that I can turn them into screenplays and direct them as films.
