HC: Why did you choose Brandeis?
SH: I chose Brandeis for its strong commitment to social justice and top-notch academics. I also completely fell in love with the campus when I toured.
HC: What activities are you involved with on campus?
SH: I am the co-founder and music director of No Singer Clef Behind, the all-inclusive a cappella group at Brandeis! Because No Singer Clef Behind consists of two main a cappella groups plus a number of side groups this year, and I am the music director for all of them, I don’t really have time to do any other clubs! I also serve as co-president of the Brandeis Chamber Choir. It’s a lot of music all the time, but it’s tons of fun!
HC: What has been your best memory at Brandeis so far?
SH: I would say my best memory was either No Singer Clef Behind’s semester show last spring or its very first rehearsal this semester. I pour my heart and soul into this group; to watch them come together as one giant musical family and make awesome music makes me incredibly happy.
HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
SH: Teaching high school choir and gigging on the weekends with my a cappella group!
