This week at Brandeis, students are celebrating Bronstein Spirit Week with lots of exciting events, but who exactly is Bronstein and why are we celebrating for a week in his honor? Students share their thoughts of who Bronstein really is in this video brought to you by Student Events:
Â
Leo Bronstein was a quirky Brandeis Art Professor in 50’s, and 60s who made students appreciate art and see beauty in the world around them. He embodied the essence of the 60s and over time drew a cult-like following. The year before he was going to retire, his students decided to make a day in his honor. This day was called Bronstein Day. Students continued to celebrate Bronstein Day and over time extended the celebration to a week. The long-standing tradition of Bronstein Week began to be treated as Brandeis’ Spirit Week.Â
Student Events has done an excellent job of explaining who Bronstein was and why we honor him, so let’s leave the confusion behind and have fun! Check out Student Events’ events honoring Bronstein and Brandeis spirit!
