Growing up as a Hall County native, I was always aware of Brenau University. The amazing thing, I now get an opportunity to experience, is the wonderful history and traditions this great university has to offer its students as well as to the community. Since becoming a student here I have immersed myself within this community atmosphere. Â I have met many students from the state of Georgia, from other states, as well as other countries. Brenau University is a place for everyone. Even if you come from another culture or speak a different language everyone is apart of this small community. The school’s motto for this year is KEEP BRENAU KIND!! I love this motto because it shows the importance of kindness and the way students are to be treated on this campus. Â By being apart of this community I hope to gain a wonderful education, long lasting friendships, and a true sense of myself. Even though I have only been on campus for less than two months I have joined several clubs, been involved in the faculty vs student softball game, and made a lot of new friends. Being apart of the Brenau University softball team has helped me to take a more active road of leadership within our community. Â It is important for me to become a part of the Brenau community because this will allow me to grow as a young woman and fulfill my goal of becoming a middle school teacher. I want to be part of a community that is loving and concerned about the individuals within the community. By being apart of HER Campus, I promote events that are welcoming to all students and that will show the wonderful diversity of Brenau University. I love being a part of this amazing Brenau community and have already met some truly amazing people. As I grow as a Brenau student, I hope my skills and abilities will contribute to the success of this community.
