It’s that time of year again where we get to make the most important decision of all… what are we going to be wearing for Halloween?

Yes, spooky season is upon us and the race to the best Halloween look has begun. This year is going to be a special one with so many options to choose from of incredible characters that have appeared over the last 12 months.

I’m going to line up my top 5 for you, to give you a few ideas of who you could transform into for all the spooky party’s you’ve got coming up over the next few weeks.

Coming in at number five I’ve chosen a character that has reappeared onto our screens this year, from when we first saw them all the way back in 1990. With a slight change we saw a new and improved version this year, meaning there are so many costumes you could chose from to transform into the one and only ARIEL from The Little Mermaid. I get the feeling we’re going to be seeing a lot of shiny scales and shell bras walking around on the 31st. With now two options for a hair style; you could go with the original red style, or opt for the new and improved golden brown locks. If the fins aren’t really your style there’s always the option for you to have your princess moment and recreate Ariel in human form, in her gorgeous dress. My personal favourite is her blue gown with the beautiful navy corset and light blue long sleeved top. Of course the perfect way to finish this off is with a large matching blue bow worn on the back of your head. An easy way to have your perfect princess moment.

Now for number four, where I have chosen a more spooky option! Horror fans will be familiar with this years arrival of the sweetest looking doll, little did we know she had a sinister side. MEGAN was a smash hit this year and an obvious option for this years spooky shenanigans. One main scene jumps out to me as an iconic moment form this film. Yes you guessed it, the dance scene! Find yourself a cream dress, some white tights and stripy long sleeved top. Of course don’t forget the giant blue bow tie! Make sure to learn the dance so you can impress all the party goers on the dance floor!

Bringing in a strong contender for number three, I have chosen one of the most highly anticipated films of the year! The one and only BARBIE. But with so many looks to choose from how could we possibly decide which way to go for the most important night of the year? I had to choose the look seen in a picture that made the whole world go crazy back in June. Yes, of course it had to be Barbies roller skate look. So get in those 80s feels, go find yourself a neon leotard, some bright cycling shorts and a set of neon knee and elbow pads! Don’t forget to pick up a pair of roller skates and everyone will see you coming! You might even find yourself your “just Ken” at a party.

Number two is a character that we actually first met last year, Miss Adams took the Netflix community by storm with her iconic dark makeup and dance scene that went viral on TikTok. WEDNESDAY was a hit, a spin off series from the well known ‘Adams Family’ shot to the top of the Netflix viewing charts. However its November release date meant it was just too late to be the perfect Halloween look last year. But fear not, the all black look will be a killer spooky addition to any party this year. Get practicing on those plaits, raid your local charity shops for the perfect black gown and get those eyes darkened!

Finally we get to number one! This decision was a hard one overall with some great contenders coming in the overall top five. However, for me there was always one top look from this year. Although I have already mentioned this character, I think having two places in the top five is justified due to the sheer excitement which she caused this year. Barbie has been a household name for generations of little girls (and boys as well!) With her variety of looks in her extensive wardrobe, Barbie is the only number one for this years style inspo. As soon as a saw this look in the film I knew it would be a hit. One of the most memorable scenes in the film where Barbie realised the human world wasn’t all its cracked up to be, Margo Robbie wore a dark pink western look. Sporting some sparkly detailed flares, with a matching waistcoat and bright pink cowgirl hat, Margo Robbie killed the real world Barbie Look!

So whoever you choose to go as, get those looks together and have a great Halloween night!
