What is “Vegan”, I get that all the time or “What do vegans eat”, vegans are normal people who eat everything besides meat, eggs, dairy and any animals by product.  Strict vegans like myself don’t eat junk food, fast food, processed foods, frozen foods, sugary foods and only drink water, organic juices and tea.  Being vegan isn’t a cult, it’s just a way of living and eating better.  Vegans don’t eat animals or animal products, we don’t wear animal products, experiment on or use animals for our entertainment.

I decided to be vegan because it was the right choice for myself. Since I already grew up eating my vegetables and fruits it wasn’t a hard change to adapt. I am also super lactose intolerant so giving up ice cream wasn’t hard either.  Since I became vegan I don’t get sick or fatigued, I have a lot of energy and my whole attitude about life is positive and happy. I do work out a lot and take care of my body.

Everyone wants to be healthy and a vegan diet is great way of eating better and being healthy. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics says that vegans are less likely to develop heart disease, cancer, diabetes, or high blood pressure than meat-eaters. Vegans get all the nutrients that they need to be healthy, such as plant protein, fiber, and minerals, without all the stuff in meat that slows you down and makes you sick, such as cholesterol and saturated animal fat.

Being vegan has the chance of giving you more energy. With more energy, it would be perfect for late nights with that certain someone. (For the Guys: The cholesterol and saturated animal fat found in meat, eggs, and dairy products don’t just clog the arteries to your heart. They also obstruct blood flow to other vital organs as well.)

Being vegan is a way of life that most can adapt to. It just takes discipline and changing the way you eat. When you do start to see the “vegan view point” you would wonder why didn’t you do this sooner, I know I did. This article wasn’t meant to entice you to became vegan, but for me to give my opinion on why I chose veganism.
