6 Can’t-Miss Starbucks Holiday Drinks on Thayer Street

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brown chapter.

Finally, the moment we have been waiting for is here: the new Starbucks has opened its doors on Thayer and is waiting for your arrival! With its opening strategically timed close to the Christmas holidays, it can bring you just a little closer to home by happily providing you with Holiday Drinks you love, warming up your day-to-day life. For this holiday season, Starbucks created 3 Christmas drink categories: Merry Everything, Home for the Holidays, and Cold Brew Cheer.

Merry Everything

White Chocolate Mocha
Deep down, we all identify as die-hard white chocolate mocha fans. However, Starbucks upgrades its version for each holiday season to ensure that it puts a smile on our faces. It wouldn’t be a mocha with a spicy cup of espresso; the twist in this is the toasted white chocolate sauce that will make you drool. And for the cherry on top, the whipped cream and festive sprinkles are worth waiting for in their huge lines for free holiday cups.

Caramel Macchiato
This caramel-infused bombshell doesn’t have to be served only during the holidays. Still, it sure is an all-year-round special and a must during the spiteful cold. With the smoothly blended milk of your choice that dominates the upper layer of your drink, the elegant mixture of espresso and caramel pairs perfectly with the frothy ending to your drink. This drink will consistently be in your hand as you walk from Starbucks to SciLi during finals!

Home for the holidays

Peppermint Mocha
The world-famous Peppermint mocha transitions its grandness into the holiday season. It is just as comforting as you remember it to be. The peppermint syrup perpetuates the burst of flavor that touches your tongue from the espresso shot, warming both your mouth as well as your soul. Its wonderful toppings of whipped creams and little dark chocolate curls submerge you into a new dimension of warmth and comfort, making your day a little bit better. The best part of this drink is its flexible element of wasting equally incredible in either hot, iced, or frappuccino from using any milk in all forms and for all occasions.

Caramel Brûlée Latte
As we try to transform our habits of drinking iced lattes in the warmth, we try to bring the heat to us this time during the piercing cold through warm lattes. The Caramel Brûlée Latte is an all-time classic that combines Starbuck’s three most prominent elements: steamed milk, espresso, and caramel brûlée syrup. It doesn’t stop there: the caramel brûléeulee latte shifts desert time earlier for you with your morning coffee through its thoughtful additions of caramel brûlée pieces and whipped cream.

Cold brew cheer

Irish Cream Cold Brew
Starbucks was correct with this one; its distinguished cold brew coffees will brighten your day and even cheer you during the upcoming holiday season. The renowned cold brew forms the base of this exquisite coffee beverage, which will assuredly wake you up in the morning but in a pleasantly satisfying way through its magical frothy layer. Spiked with Irish cream syrup submerged in vanilla cold foam with sweet cream, the sprinkling of cocoa powder prepares you for the plethora of hot cocoas you will enjoy by the fire soon.

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
Saving the best for last, Starbucks made a comeback from its influential Pumpkin Spice Latte by introducing the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, just in time for their seasonal holiday fans and loyal customers of their Pumpkin Spice. Not only did they transform the warm latte into a cold brew to stimulate your morning routine, but this time the foam isn’t simply made from pumpkin powder; it actually has real pumpkin in it, painting a unique orange color to the froth that none of us Starbucks fans have ever seen before. Its light feeling fools you with its rich taste stemming from its sweet pumpkin flavor. And to top it all off, we all expected there to be pumpkin spice sprinkled on top, and that’s exactly what Starbucks gave us for the holidays.

Hi my name is Sofia and I am a junior from Greece concentrating in Behavioral Decision Science with the Entrepreneurship path. Outside class I love cooking while listening to music, spending quality time with friends and family, and taking my dog to the beach. Coming from Greece, I love being immersed in water and enjoy kite surfing, wake surfing and swimming (especially with my dog of course, I don't go anywhere without her). I also enjoy playing tennis with friends and spontaneously composing piano pieces.
