Small clothing boutiques and businesses are some of my favorite places to shop! They always have such unique and special selections, and it feels great to support small businesses. The following list has a few of my favorites that I’ve encountered in Providence, Boston, Nantucket, and my hometown of Greenwich, CT. Many of them have locations across the region. They also have online shopping options in case you can’t shop in-store! Â
My 6 Favorite New England Boutiques…
1. Opal & Oak
Opal & Oak is one of my favorite discoveries from my most recent trip to Newbury St in Boston, MA. I got an adorable dress for spring break (check out the Darlene Mini Dress in light blue ), and I had an amazing shopping experience. They had great clothing and jewelry selections. Many of the pieces they had in store were perfect for spring and came in beautiful pastel hues.Â

2. Abigail Fox Designs
Fun fact: working at AFD Nantucket was my first summer job when I was 13! I worked at Abigail Fox Designs in both their Old Greenwich, CT, and Nantucket, MA, locations until my senior year at school. While I may be a bit biased, AFD is truly such a special boutique. The owner, THE Abigail Fox, hand selects all of the pieces in store and is truly masterful at curating a perfect combination of jewelry, clothing, houseware, and gifts. AFD is the place to go whether you’re in the need of a classic beach cover up, unique hostess gift, or elevated “ACK” sweatshirt.Â

3. Coco Goose
Coco Goose is a chic boutique with a location in our very own Providence, RI. Located in Wayland Square, Coco Goose has a lovely selection to peruse with a coffee from Madrid European Bakery in hand. They carry high fashion brands like Agolde, Golden Goose, Veronica Beard, and Seven for All Mankind. While definitely a bit on the pricey side, all of their selections are on trend and high quality. In my experience, the retail associates are amazing, and they have great customer service.Â

4. Salt Boutique
Salt is another one of my favorite summer boutiques on Nantucket. They always have gorgeous summer dresses and bathing suits and super cool and trendy accessories and jewelry. Trust me when I say that this is the store of choice for all the Nantucket cool girls. Again, Salt is on the pricey side, but everything I have purchased at Salt is super high quality and has lasted me for years. I have been shopping at Salt for years, and they always have top notch selection—some of my all time favorite pieces are from Salt.Â

5. South Moon Under
Including South Moon Under may be cheating a little bit because most of their locations are a little bit south of New England and they are a bit bigger than the other brands on my list, but they only have one New England location, and it’s definitely worth checking out! South Moon Under is my go-to shop for all bikinis, coverups, and swimwear. They also carry fan favorite brands like Agolde, Free People, Show Me Your Mumu, and Z Supply.Â

6. Unsubscribed
Similar to South Moon Under, Unsubscribed has a few more locations across the East Coast, but they honestly have such amazing pieces that I had to include it. Unsubscribed has a focus on sustainability, so all of their pieces are made ethically, with recycled fabrics and natural fibers. They also emphasize slow fashion, so they only make two collections per year and their pieces are designed to last. Like most small boutiques, the customer service experience is honestly unmatched, and I have had great experiences with the sales associates (special shoutout to the Unsubscribed Greenwich team).Â
