HC: What was your job search experience like during senior year?
MU: Chaotic! I think that I tried to ignore the fact that college was ending for a little too long, which was a huge mistake. I ended up cramming all my interviews into the spring semester which was less than ideal, thankfully it all worked out but if I could go back I without a doubt would have started the process earlier—however receiving my first official offer letter during senior week was pretty fun J

HC: Did you ever have a “Dream Job” that you wanted to do?
MU: Absolutely, and it’s still a dream that could become a reality. After realizing accounting wasn’t my forte and that sociology was my true passion I really wanted to get my Ph.D. and become a college professor. I guess I can thank my various mentors for that, but I know that obtaining that title is not a walk in the park so I’m taking the time to really think about if it’s a road I’d like travel.
Â
HC: How has Bryant impacted your career today?
MU: Bryant gave me a transferable skill set that has helped me achieve what I have so far. Through all the group work and projects I learned how to communicate my ideas and opinions in a professional, appropriate manner; through all of the extracurricular clubs and opportunities I learned to view every bit of involvement as a networking prospect. Bryant provided the framework for success and now it’s up to me to fill in the rest!
Â
HC:Â Any advice for undergrads?
MU: Live it up, no matter how much stress you feel like you’re under, no matter how much is on your never-ending to do list don’t forget to take the time and ENJOY COLLEGE. This is the time to discover yourself, forge your own path, follow your dreams and make friendships that will last a lifetime. Studying and doing well for yourself is important but don’t underestimate the social aspect, the memories you make with friends will last forever.
