To start off the spring semester, Her Campus Bryant wanted to give our readers a brief introduction to Greek life on campus.Â
We decided to talk with the eight new Greek life presidents to learn more about their involvement on campus and what’s next for their chapter.Â
Here is our interview with the president of the fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon, Andrew Bacon.Â
HC: Why did you decide to go Greek?
AB: I decided to go Greek because of the strong sense of community that I saw in Greek life at Bryant. Bryant has a variety of fraternities and sororities which are diverse, yet all connected. There is a place for everyone in Bryant Greek life!
Â
HC: Why did you decide to run for president?
AB: I decided to run for president as a way to step into more of a leadership role in my fraternity. I have an imperative vision for the future of Tau Kappa Epsilon and the presidency is the best place to enact that vision.Â
Â
HC: What is your favorite thing about your sorority or fraternity?
AB: My favorite thing about TKE at Bryant University is the sense of connection and community between the brothers. Every brother is very well in tune with one another and genuinely cares about the well being of one another.Â
Â
HC: What is your favorite memory from being a part of your sorority or fraternity?
AB: My favorite memory as a TKE thus far was this past fall formal. The whole fraternity and their dates ventured to Twelve Acres Banquet Hall and we had ourselves a time.
Â
HC: What is one thing you are excited about that is happening in your organization this semester?
AB: I am very excited for spring rush and to see all of the new guys who come out and show interest in TKE! Spring rush will be happening in the first three weeks of school. Look out for posters for official dates or follow Tau Kappa Epsilon on Instagram @bryant_tke!
