This Saturday, April 16, 2016 She’s the First*{Bryn Mawr} will be hosting their annual Zumbathon in the gym’s Multi Purpose Room! From 3-4pm, alum and former BMC Zumba instructor Joanna Kosmaoglou `15 will be leading this super fun dance-ercise to benefit girls’ education.
A little background: She’s the First provides scholarships to girls in low-income countries, fostering first-generation graduates and cultivating the next generation of global leaders. They have over 400 High School and College chapters across the nation who fundraise on their campuses and in their communities to pay for the tuition of the She’s the First scholars across the globe in places like Guatemala, Kanya, India, and more! Cupcakes are their signature fundraiser, the Tie-Dye Cupcake Bake Off is an annual fall tradition, but in the Spring, the fundraising campaign is Run the World.
So, She’s the First*{Bryn Mawr} is taking part in Run the World with their Zumbathon! The first Zumbathon was held in 2013 in TGH, led by alum and former Zumba instructor Yashaswini Singh `13. It was such a success that it is now a highlight of their annual fundraising campaign. So if you want to try a new form of exercise, love to dance, or just want to have a blast with some awesome people for a good cause, head on over to the gym Saturday at 3pm! There is a suggested $3 donation. Check out the Facebook event!
