It may not be everyone’s ideal to be single on Valentine’s Day, but if you are, don’t sweat it! Just grab a blanket and a pint of cream, and curl up with one of these great movies for a day of holiday binge-watching.
1. The Notebook
There’s a reason this movie pops up everywhere you turn. It’s just that good. If you’re in one of those moods where you just need to cry your eyes out, Nicholas Sparks will never disappoint.
2. The 40-Year-Old Virgin
First of all, this movie is hilarious. But even if you aren’t looking for a cheesy romance movie, this film is just as much about friendship and personal growth as it is about finding “the one.” Plus, who doesn’t love Steve Carell?
3. I Love You, Man
This movie gives a huge shout out to all of the best friends out there, because even if you have a perfect romantic relationship, your life still isn’t complete without your friends. So grab your besties and watch this film for the wonderful bromance (and Paul Rudd of course).
4. 10 Things I Hate About You
Everyone has an ex like one of the leading guys in this movie. He could be a total jerk like Joey, a too-sweet kid like Cameron, or a rebel like Patrick. This movie is honestly one of the greatest out there — let the ex-bashing begin.
5. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
This movie is a total classic. I mean, in terms of rock-solid friendships, it doesn’t get much better than this. Who needs a guy when you have your girls behind you?
6. Bridesmaids
It may seem counterintuitive to watch a wedding movie when you’re single on Valentine’s Day, but trust me on this one. This movie won’t leave you looking for love, but it will leave you looking for your best friends.
7. Grease
Grease is one of those movies that you can never really get tired of. This film is just so completely feel-good that it’s hard to find an occasion where you shouldn’t watch it!
8. The Other Woman
If you’re in a wonderfully bitter mood, then I have the movie for you. In this movie, a man’s wife and his two girlfriends (yup) come together to enact their revenge on him. It’s totally worth the watch.
9. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
This movie is hilarious, and how could it not be with Jason Segel, Jonah Hill, and Paul Rudd on the roster? If you want to remember why it’s great to be single, give this film a shot.
10. The Last Song
Since I’m pretty sure it would be a crime to only include one Nicholas Sparks movie on this list, here’s another tear-jerker. This movie is my personal favorite of all of his movies, and that’s saying something. And no, that isn’t only because Liam Hemsworth is in it.
So there you have it! Ten killer movies to snuggle up to this Valentine’s Day! Enjoy!
