20 Things We Miss Most About Gossip Girl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Every girl with a brain knows that Gossip Girl is like the greatest show ever. From the insanely attractive cast, extravagant parties, never-ending rumors and backstabbing, crazy love triangles, and endless bottles of champagne, GG is literally everything. We died every time Chuck Bass sipped his Scotch and did that sexy “lick his lips and look up” thing and wanted to be Blair Waldorf as she reigned over NYC. We hated Serena for being in love with an outer-borough peasant aka Dan but we understood and accepted their relationship. We saw what a great guy Nate was and wanted him to be happy and stop messing around with the wrong girls. We fell in love with the “Non-Judging Breakfast Club” and believed that somehow we were apart of their world. Eventually it all ended and now we are left binge watching episodes and praying by some miracle GG will return.

1. Living vicariously through B and S.

Ugh why can’t we just jet off to Paris for the summer with our best friend after a break-up?

2.  The scheming.

No one does manipulation better than privileged teens on the Upper East Side.

3. The random and basically incestuous hookups.

And that isn’t even all of it. Let’s not forget when Ivy Dickens was with Dan…and then Rufus…and then William van der Woodsen. Or when Serena was dating Steven who had also slept with Lily and whose daughter was sleeping with Nate.

4. The fashion.

“Whoever said that money doesn’t buy happiness didn’t know where to shop.”

5. More specifically Blair’s headbands.

Blair was never without a plot, a clever one-liner, or a headband and we love her for it.

6. Blair being Blair.

She will always be our Queen B.

7. And Chuck being Chuck.

Enough said.

8. And then Chuck and Blair’s relationship.

Three words… Eight letters…

9. Serena being Serena aka somehow messing things up.

Her past being that she once killed a guy, had an affair with a married Congressman, and sent the teacher she was in love with to jail. Also tbt to her dating Dan, Nate, and Carter Baizen off and on like every other day, and then Blair’s step brother Aaron, Nate’s cousin Tripp, Poppy’s boyfriend Gabriel, her high school teacher Ben, her college professor Colin, and then Ivy’s rando boyfriend Max. Still love you though S.

10. And Georgina Sparks purposely messing things up.

Let’s just admit that we all secretly liked Georgina and her way of always randomly just showing up and planning some twisted scheme. Can’t forget her scary eyes.

11. Dorota.

The definition of a “ride or die.”

12. And the rest of Blair’s minions.
“Ew I’m not friends with staff.”

13. The Thanksgivings.

Every year we all hoped our holidays would be filled with the same amount of drama and plot twists.

14. Nate and his many…many…many women.

From Blair to Serena, Jenny, Vanessa, his family’s nemesis Bree Buckley, the married Duchess Catherine, that teenager Sage, the boss’ daughter Raina, his own boss Diana, the psycho Juliet, and both the real and fake Lola Rhodes, Nate conquered the Upper East Side and more importantly our hearts.

15. And Lily with her many men.

Sixth times a charm right Lily?

16. And Eric being there to call her out every time.
God Bless Eric for being the only semi-normal one throughout the show. Even with his unfortunate highlights.

17. But Rufus still being there with waffles no matter what.

We could always count on a table full of waffles and not a single one being eaten during family brunch.

18. Jenny and her acts of rebellion.

True that, Little J.

19. Vanessa being a side chick.

Duh Vanessa?

20. And Dan being his judgmental self.“Lonely Boy” more like “Judge every person in New York but still try and befriend them while secretly running the biggest gossip site in history boy.”

PLEASE COME BACK YOU KNOW WE LOVE YOUXOXO
