7 Body Positive Women You Should Follow on Instagram

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

With the media constantly bombarding us with images of what women should look like, it’s important to do what we can to surround ourselves with more positive messages. I follow these accounts on Instagram because they make me feel confident and expand my views of beauty from the narrow ones the majority of media represents.

1) Iskra Lawrence (@iamiskra)

Iska is a model for Aerie in their anti retouching campaign. I love Iskra in particular because I relate to her and I love her style. It was life changing for me to see someone so confident and gorgeous who is open and proud about what society has deemed her “flaws.” A couple of examples: she calls her cellulite tiger stripes and her spider veins lightning bolts. Her ‘I don’t give a f*$@ if you don’t like it’ attitude inspires me to be unapologetically me.

2) Winnie Harlow @winnieharlow

Winnie was on America’s Next Top Model and her pictures are always amazing. She speaks out about her skin condition- Vitiligo, and self esteem.

3) Ashley Graham @theashleygraham

This gorgeous model is all about acceptance and confidence.

4) Olivia Campbell @curvycampbell

Olivia Campbell posts her edgy photos often captioned with beautiful and inspirational poetry.

5) Nadia Aboulhosn @nadiaaboulhosn

I love this curvy fashion blogger’s aesthetic plus her brows are majorly on fleek

6) Demi Lovato @ddlovato

Demi encourages her fans by being open about her struggles with confidence and mental health. She’s totally body positive and has an inspiring account to follow.

7) Zendaya @zendaya

Zendaya fought against unrealistic standards created by photoshopping in this post and keeps it real on her account.
