Even if you’re not obsessed with the fashion world, you’ve probably heard of Karlie Kloss, or at least seen her face. Not only is she a top model in countless runway shows, photo shoots and commercials, she’s part of Taylor Swift’s adorable girl squad. Obviously she’s beautiful (#modelstatus), but she’s also so much more.
#1: She opened for DVF’s Spring 2016 show.
Karlie just opened for Diane von Furstenberg’s Spring 2016 Ready to Wear show this past NY Fashion Week. She’s been an in-demand model for a while now and she’s known to rock the runway. In this show she wore a classic DVF wrap dress with a modern twist in its clashing prints in a rosy color scheme. Fluffy, bouncy curls with a large floral headpiece framed her face while colorful eyeshadow created interest. She completely strutted her stuff down the runway with a small smirk, epitomizing simple elegance.
#2: She has awesome eyebrows.
In a time when everyone is obsessed with their eyebrow game, she absolutely kills it. Her sharply arched brows are super expressive and help her nail her smoldering pouts (or her ‘blue steel’ pose!)
#3: She has an adorable friendship with Taylor Swift.
Among many other fabulous women, Karlie played “Knockout” in T. Swift’s famous “Bad Blood” music video. They even walked the runway together during the 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion when Taylor performed. Their friendship is so cute, Vogue even devoted their March 2015 cover shoot to it. And of course let’s not forget their adorbs insta pics together (the true test of friendship).
#4: She has her Karlie’s Kookies company.
Karlie has a super sweet reputation and is said to bring her homemade cookies to photoshoots for the crew or to send them with a thank you note after interviews. Her healthy cookies are vegan and gluten-free. Even better, proceeds from the cookies go to different charities like FEED (giving lunches to impoverished kids around the world) and CFDA (supporting young American fashion designers).
#5: She has a Kode with Karlie program.
In collaboration with the Flatiron School, Karlie’s program gave 21 girls a scholarship to learn to code over a summer. This program aims to close the gap between the number of men and women with computer science degrees and give girls a head start to make a difference in the technology field.
#6: She has a YouTube Channel, Klossy.
At the end of July of this year, she started a YouTube channel. It includes everything from behind the scenes vlogs of her photo shoots and runway shows to personal Q & A’s. Also, Casey Neistat, a talented filmmaker and YouTube content creator, produces the videos. His influence is clear in the creative, professional editing and filming of her videos, giving them that much more of an edge.
#7: And obviously, her street style is so on point.
