Instead of watching cartoons on Saturday mornings when he was little, Aidan Intemann watched the Food Network.
Flash forward years later and Aidan is still working with one of the things he loves most – food. As a sophomore in Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration, Aidan pursues his dream of becoming the next Anthony Bourdain.

“My parents really encouraged me to go to school for hospitality,” said Aidan, “They knew my personality meshed with food because food is a really social experience.”
As he navigates between classes like “Food and Beverage Management”, “Fine Wines”, and “Principles of Food Production”, Aidan also serves as the Social Media Manager for the Boston University chapter of Spoon University. As the Social Media Manager, Aidan is in charge of all of the posts that go onto the chapter’s Instagram page and monitors page content and outreach. Friend and roommate Samantha Kelley says, “he spends 30% of his time looking at food, 40% looking at fashion, and 30% on general social media.”Outside of the classroom, Aidan continues his studies on the streets of Boston. “My favorite place to get food is definitely around Allston,” says Aidan, “there’s such a wide range of authentic Asian food, it’s great. Korean food is my favorite, but I liked it more before it became in vogue,” he adds, scrolling through a food Instagram feed on his phone. Aidan and his friends also plan a weekly brunch on Saturday or Sunday mornings. “Aidan always researches and finds the brunch spot we go to every week,” says friend and roommate Elise Takahama, “he does a great job picking them out.” Friend Jessica Oshanani adds that Aidan, “exposes [her] to different food terminology, foods, and really opens up [her] tastes.”
At home, Aidan’s favorite food to prepare is burgers because “[he] loves the social experience of a barbecue.” He adds, “My favorite cookbook though would have to be Tangy, Tart, Hot & Sweet by Padma Lakshmi because I love her fusion recipes and grew up watching her on Top Chef.”
However, Aidan gave no insight as to what he would eat for his last meal saying, “don’t do that to me!”
