Just like most college students, I live off of Trader Joe’s. My apartment is constantly stocked with everything from their microwavable meals to their addictive frozen desserts.
With fall in full swing, that means one thing: new and returning fall Trader Joe’s items!
As the Trader Joe’s lover I am, I’ve compiled an honest ranking of some staple Trader Joe’s fall items to help guide your shopping this season.
- Butternut squash mac and cheese
-
One of my top three Trader Joe’s items of all time is the butternut squash mac and cheese. This item is everything you want in a classic fall meal: warm, creamy, and filling.
Along with being delicious, it is quick and easy to make and is the perfect dinner to eat after walking back from class in the pitch black of autumn nights.
Usually, Trader Joe’s has an endless supply of this item due to its popularity, but I would stock up while you can!
- Pumpkin ravioli
-
I am such a big ravioli fan, and Trader Joe’s has a wide range to choose from that never disappoints. These pumpkin ravioli live up to the hype and I’ve been eating them at least once a week this season.
The pumpkin filling with the balance of the pasta gives you an authentic fall feeling. Pair this with standard pasta sauce and meat mix-in or just enjoy it on its own. You’ll never be disappointed by this easy weekday dinner!
- This pumpkin walks into a bar
-
I am a big “grab a granola bar to eat on my way to class” type of girl, and these pumpkin bars absolutely satisfy that need.
The pumpkin filling is the perfect taste of fall and has you feeling like you just walked into an autumn girl Pinterest board. I recommend picking up a box for the perfect before-class snack.
- Cinnamon Bun Spread
-
No mall trip is complete without a “Cinnabon” cinnamon bun in hand as I am walking out. Now I can add cinnamon and creamy goodness to any average item without driving half an hour to my local mall.
This spread is perfect to put on everything from toast to sugar cookies. It even tastes great on its own. Definitely worth the purchase!
- Non-dairy maple-flavored oat beverage
-
As someone who has been trying to get better about not constantly ordering Starbucks, this beverage spices up any coffee.
Adding this to my Keurig coffee leaves me feeling like I just walked out of Starbucks, but with more money in my wallet! It’s like adding maple syrup to your coffee without the sweetness overload.
I would stock up on these quick before they run out.
- Spooky bats and cats sour gummy candies
-
Yes, yes, I know that all gummies basically taste the same no matter what shape they’re in, which is why these treats only rank as number six.
However, something about bat- and cat-shaped gummies somehow makes them taste slightly better, and they get me excited for Halloween!
They are the perfect way to satisfy a candy craving and I definitely recommend grabbing a bag on your next shopping trip.
- Apple and pumpkin hand pies
-
Honestly, these were quite underwhelming. As a girl with a big sweet tooth and a love for pie, these did not live up to my expectations. The filling was quite dry and did not taste like the usual Thanksgiving treat.
I felt like I could have better satisfied my sweet tooth with an endless amount of other items. I would only buy these again if there was nothing better in the dessert aisle.
- Pumpkin tortilla chips
-
These are 100% a skip. Stick to regular tortilla chips.
When I first saw these at Trader Joe’s, I was very excited to try them out. I was expecting them to taste similar to the “Stacy’s Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips,” in that they would be the perfect balance of savory and sweet.
However, all these had me balancing was hatred and disgust.
Try something new this fall and expand your tastebuds with these trader Joe’s items!
