Another semester has flown by, and if you ask me… it happened within the blink of an eye. One minute it’s January and everything is fresh and new; your classes are still interesting and there are no final exams creeping up behind you, and the next minute, you are about to be completing an entire year of college.

The weeks go faster than the days, and the months surpass that. The summer is steadily approaching and it seems like it’s too good to be true.

I find myself confused sometimes as to why the time flies so quickly and how I’ve completed my sophomore year of college. All those pleas through the semester, when all you could ask for were a break and no more work, can finally be answered.

Unfortunately, completing another year of college is not all positive feels. It means one semester closer to graduating and actually having to enter into the real world.

Another semester will come to a start and that cycle, of wanting the semester to end, will begin again.

So, I propose that we all don’t wish away or overthink the time we have left, however long it may be. College is only so long and as exhausting as it can be, it offers so many opportunities. Embrace it and don’t wish away the semesters or wait for the summers! The summer will come, regardless of whether you are wishing for it to arrive faster.

Each part of your college career will offer something new and different, so live and learn. Part of the experience is using each and every semester to your advantage. College is about working towards a goal.

Whether you just started, are halfway there, or meeting the end; prioritize time you have left! Because girl… time flies when you are having fun.

Quick! Go enjoy the semester before it ends!
