On the surface, campus cutie Arturo Fernandez is a freshman business major hailing from South Texas. However, once you dig a little deeper, you discover Arturo’s real passion: music.
5 years ago, his brother – Daniel Fernandez, SMG ’17 – started a band with his high school friends called Volatile Colour. Arturo later joined the band as a guitar player, ultimately completing their self-proclaimed “experimental pop” sound.
Volatile Colour now records, produces, mixes, and performs all original songs, thus gathering quite a following. And although the band has been split up physically across the country for the first time, their voice lives on. Arturo and Daniel perform DJ and guitar versions of the same songs, including their band-mates’ sound technologically.
For Arturo, his experience with Volatile Colour has been surprisingly relevant to his experiences at BU. “I’m studying business because, well it’s a versatile major. But beyond that, I’m good at presenting and engaging people. Business helps sharpen my people skills, which has helped me with my band at the same time.”
Arturo’s favorite memory is the first time his audience sang along with the band. “I just love that.” Support the dream and spread the love by checking out this cutie and Volatile Colour!
