Best Coffee Shops Near Campus with Free Wi-Fi

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

We are well into second semester now, and it’s time to hit the books hard. If your anything like me, studying in Mugar has lost its appeal, and studying in your room turns into Netflix time. Starbucks and Panera can get over crowded quickly, so go out of your comfort zone, and study somewhere new and exciting. All of these places have delicious baked goods, strong cappuccinos, free Wi-Fi and are all located close to campus.

Pavement Coffeehouse

736 Commonwealth Avenue

Boston, MA 02215

This coffeehouse replaced campus favorite Espresso Royale this year, and is just across from Marsh Plaza. Don’t worry, the menu is all still the same. Space fills us quickly, so be sure to come early, grab and bagel sandwich and enjoy two free hours of Wi-Fi on the house.

Refuge Café

155 Brighton Avenue

Allston, MA 02134

Located just past Packard’s Corner in Allston, Refuge Café is a hidden gem. Even if you do not live in West, this spot is well worth the trek.  They make amazing lattes and eggplant fries (they’re to die for!). Plus, the unlimited Wi-Fi doesn’t hurt.

Trident Booksellers and Café

 388 Newbury Street

Boston, MA 02115

Trident is a super unique spot on Newbury; it’s both full-scale café and a full-scale bookstore. Set up a spot along the counters, or grab some friends and sprawl out over a couple tables. They have a huge menu, so there’s sure to be something you’ll love to munch on while you study. It’s best features have to be that it have unlimited Wi-Fi, and is open till midnight every night.

Tatte Bakery and Café

1003 Beacon Street

Brookline, MA 02446

Tatte Bakery, located just beyond South campus, will make you fell like you’ve transported yourself to a sweet café in the heart of Paris. They have free Wi-Fi and some of the best French-style pastries and coffee in all of Boston. This is the perfect spot if you want to escape the hectic craziness of campus during midterms.
