My Favorite 2025 Oscars Red Carpet And After-Party Looks

The 2025 Oscars were filled with plenty of stunning celebrity looks but just a few stood out as my favorites! From the red carpet to the after-party, here are my top looks of the night.

How can I talk about the 2025 Oscars looks without talking about Ariana Grande? Grande appeared in a light pink Schiaparelli dress that was recently seen on the runway just days before. From the unique structure to carefully embedded crystals and rhinestones that caught the camera lights, this dress was absolutely mesmerizing. I loved it during the Schiaparelli show and Grande pulled it off just as beautifully on the red carpet.

Some viewers have grown tired of the light pink dresses Ariana has been wearing since the Wicked release in November of 2024, which she stars in as Galinda/Glinda. While some felt the color was overdone or boring after months of seeing Grande in the same shade of pink, this dress truly stands out! Beautifully executed by the Wicked star, this is easily one of my favorite looks from Oscars night.

While Grande channeled recent runway couture, Kaia Gerber wore a vintage Valentino slip dress from their Spring 1997 collection. Everything from the sheer cape to the flower on the chest is stunning. It’s elegant yet exciting. The cream dress has detail and movement that made this dress stand out amongst a number of white and cream wedding-like dresses that crossed the carpet.

Lace and see-through dresses have also been very popular throughout this awards show season! One of my favorite dresses from the Oscars this year was worn by Kendall Jenner. She wore a black lace vintage dress from Mugler’s Spring 1922 collection. While this is arguably less risqué compared to a lot of the other looks we’ve seen on the red carpet lately, Kendall pulled off the all lace look beautifully.

Another dress we recently saw on the runway was worn by Stephanie Hsu. This piece is from Caroline Hu’s Spring 2025 collection. A large red flower is embedded at the center of a classic white dress; florals were a popular theme across the Oscars this year, but Hsu’s look was especially interesting.

A different take on the sheer dress trend was Rachel Zegler’s sheer tulle dress from Dior. Although sheer like a lot of other dresses worn on the red carpet, Zegler’s dress adds an ethereal twist to the trend. The corset top and long, flowy bottom complimented each other beautifully. From her blown-out hair to the stunning dress, Zegler’s entire look was fit for a princess.

I was pleasantly surprised by all of the styles that appeared on the Oscars red carpet and Vanity Fair after party in early March. Interestingly, patterns of sheer dresses and bridal gowns were worn by a number of celebrities. With time, we’ll see how these trends will reflect in everyday streetwear and consumer level fashion.

While some looks were less traditional, I respect the courage to test the limits of fashion especially in such a bright spotlight. While viewers like myself can comment or judge celebrity looks all we want, one thing is for certain is that these designers and celebrities deserve credit for the art they create.

I can’t wait to see how these looks translate to mainstream fashion!
