After countless midterms and papers, spring break is what all college students long for. Whether it’s a short trip with friends, a day at the beach spent relaxing in the sun, or self-care walks in your hometown, some downtime is all we need. Here are some great travel spots for BU students’ spring break getaways that will be a fun time, without the typical crowds of people!
- Mystic, Connecticut: A Peaceful Seaport Village
-
Mystic is a small seaport village in Connecticut with wonderful seafood restaurants and exciting water sports including paddleboarding and kayaking! The cheapest way to get from Boston to Mystic Seaport — by train — costs only $21. You can also rent a car and do some fun carpool karaoke with your friends! If the weather is too cold to swim, you can also go to a great bakery, Sift, where delicious macarons and pastries are served. Not too far away from Boston, Mystic is definitely a great place to take some time off from school!
- Cape Cod & Martha’s Vineyard
-
The famous Martha’s Vineyard island is just off the coast of Cape Cod. With a variety of antique stores, galleries, and iconic lighthouses, Martha’s Vineyard is a great spot to visit during the not-so-long break with friends and family!
- KEy west, Florida: Sun, Sand, and Ocean
-
Want to escape the gloomy, winter weather in Boston? Sunshine and the Florida beaches are here to help! If you want to try some quieter places than the big cities like Miami, Key West is a wonderful place to check out with friends. However, a trip to Key West can be a bit more expensive than a short trip to Mystic and Cape Cod, so plan ahead of time and make sure you have enough budget!
And that’s a wrap! Personally, these are the places on my bucket list that I would love to go to on our upcoming break, so maybe I’ll see some of you there! have a wonderful time on your next vacation.
