The end of summer is always a nostalgic time, and this year is no exception. Here’s a quick look at seven songs that made my summer great.
- Kyoto by Phoebe Bridgers
-
Phoebe Bridgers has quickly become one of my favorite artists over the past few months. Her sophomore album, Punisher, came out this summer. âKyotoâ is one of my favorites from the album, deviating from her typical slower, ballad-style song structure. If youâre looking for a song to scream in the shower, this is the one.

- Window by Still Woozy
-
Iâve been a fan of Still Woozy for quite some time now and they really hit the nail on the head with this song. âWindowâ is perfect for driving around and singing with friends: catchy, groovy, and will have you dancing from start to finish.
- 3 AM by HAIM
-
HAIM released their third studio album this summer and â3 AMâ is easily one of their best tracks. It feels very Michael Jackson-esque, with a funky tune and clever, thoughtful lyrics. I especially love hearing music from all-female groups and this track by HAIM is no exception.
- Superfruit by Maude Latour
-
While I initially wasnât super familiar with Maude Latourâs music, a lot of her songs, including âSuperfruit,â grew on me this summer. With a voice that sounds strikingly similar to Lorde, I wouldnât be surprised if Latour became more popular in the next few years.Â
- Easy by Troye Sivan
-
Troye Sivanâs âEasyâ is one of those songs that just feels like summer. This song reminds me of warm nights outside with friends. Sivanâs vocals are flawless, the beat is punchy; whatâs not to love?
- betty by Taylor Swift
-
If any song is for the girls and the gays, THIS IS IT! The storytelling on âbettyâ is some of Swiftâs best work. The use of traditional folky sounds like harmonica and guitar fingerpicking makes this song so successful. On an album with so many great tracks, âbettyâ is a standout for sure.Â

Hurt by Arlo Parks
-
I have always been impressed with Arlo Parksâs voice and this song only accentuates her raw talent. âHurtâ is a powerful single that focuses on moving forward through hard times. I love the lyrics on this track and I canât wait to hear more from this young singer.
Even though summer has come to an end, these songs are still definitely worth checking out. While youâre hunkering down to study remotely, these tracks can give you a taste of summer in the months to come.
