With the chaos of midterms and last minute paper deadlines, packing for Thanksgiving vacation seems like just another added stress. However, the tantalizing thoughts of home cooking is motivation enough to throw together that travel bag and rush over to Logan Airport. So this list of must-haves for the flight home will make your travels stress-free and, don’t be shocked, pleasant!
1. A makeup bag
This is a must for any flight! A compact cosmetic case will keep all of your essentials organized and you won’t have to struggle to find your lip gloss mid flight.
a. Purple nylon cosmetic bag ($68, Marc by Marc Jacobs)
b. Brown cosmetic bag ($75,Brahim Tina)
c. Maroon Makeup cosmetic bag ($50, Erin Templeton)

2. Anti-bacterial everything
Let’s face it, airports aren’t the cleanliest places, but there’s nothing that some hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes can’t handle. To avoid the common cold, I suggest wiping down the food tray and armchairs with baby wipes before you get too comfortable in the seat. Yes, people may stare at you when you obsessively wipe down everything in your site, but there’s nothing funny about being sick during your few days at home. Also, make sure to bring some hand cream to keep your hands moisturized during the flight.      Â

3. Ballet Flats
The added security and long lines at the airport can cause a headache for any traveler. However, be prepared and wear a pair of ballet flats that can easily be slipped on and off when going thru security. These shoes are comfy and stylish too, and are the perfect addition to a pair of leggings and a tee.
           a. Canvas Twisted Bow flat ($23, Charlotte Russe)
           b. Leopard Slipper Shoes ($88, Aldo)
           c. Cindy Points Toe Flats ($80, Macy’s)  Â

4. Oil Blotting Sheets
I live off of these, literally. On a long flight, when you can’t help but feel greasy, these little pieces of paper soak up all of the oil from your face and leave you feeling fresh. Also, I recommend bringing a small compact mirror in case you need to apply some cover-up for any un-expected breakouts.

5. Lip Gloss
Airplane cabins are dry and lack any sort of fresh air. Nonetheless, your lips fall victim to the cabin pressure. The best thing to combat these parched lips is to swipe on your favorite lip gloss. My personal favorites are Sugar Rose and Lord & Berry.

6. A bag of healthy snacks
Unfortunately, airports don’t offer the best food options and even if there are a few restaurants or convenience stories, the options aren’t particularly healthy. I highly recommend packing some snacks that you will be satisfied to eat and won’t regret mid-flight. My go-to airplane snacks are carrots, string cheese, almonds and hummus. These snacks are filling and are the perfect munchies while listening to your IPod or attempting to start some homework.
