It’s no secret that the trek down Commonwealth Avenue can be a pain, but this daily drudgery can be avoided with a functional and fashionable pair of sneakers. Here is a lineup of the best, cutest, and most versatile sneakers to make walking the streets of Boston a breeze.
- Hoka Clifton 9
-
First up, for a more active look and function, the Hoka Clifton 9s are arguably the best of the best running sneakers. They come in an array of colors, including a solid white for the neutral girls, and I’m convinced that they make any walk or run 50% cuter and more enjoyable!
- Nike Air Force 1
-
Next up is a classic pair of Nikes. The Air Force 1s are popular for a reason: the basic white color, tried and true durability, styling versatility, and comfort have made them a staple shoe.
- Veja V-90
-
For a slightly more colorful look, check out Veja’s V-90 sneakers. These sneaks are like an elevated Air Force 1 with the option of some colorful twists. They also pair perfectly with business-casual looks and add sophistication to any outfit.
- Reebok Workout Plus
-
The Reebok Workout Plus are a personal favorite of mine. These are my everyday go-to, as they pair well with almost every outfit and offer support like no other. Their leather exterior also makes them relatively rainproof and allows dirt and stains to be wiped away easily.
- New Balance 574 or 550
-
Last but not least, we have New Balances. While you probably couldn’t go wrong with anything from this Boston-based brand, I have two favorites.
The 574s are cute, comfortable, and breathable, thanks to the suede and mesh construction. They feature some of the softest footbeds any sneaker has to offer. They also come in a platform version, in case you’re looking for a little extra lift.
Another option from New Balance is the famed 550s. Like the Air Force 1s, the hype exists for a reason. These are another great white-leather basic, and like the Veja V-90s, they can have a colorful twist.
