Stages of Registering for Classes as Told by Parks and Rec

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Registration is coming up, and while it can be a clean slate for us to explore potential interests and continue learning about what we love, it can also be a crazy experience. You never know what could happen to your class list from the beginning to the end of the process, and the entire thing is just something we wish we could skip. Here’s how a typical registration will go down:

You’re so done with your current classes

You realize registration is coming up, and are excited for the new possibilities

So you decide to start planning your classes super early

And decide to step out of your comfort zone to try out a new subject

But then you see that the class requires a discussion and a lab

After searching every option, you now have the perfect schedule

You refresh your planner every 15 minutes the morning of registration to see the number of open seats shrinking each time

You then realize you may have to take that class you only added as a safety

You leave your room for a minute and come back to see a little red flag next to a class

You realize it’s now your registration time and start freaking out

You click on the “add class” button and get the last spot in that class you really wanted

You sign up for that class that you know is way too much work, but is one of the only choices you have left

You only get one or two classes you really wanted, and are beginning to feel like this

You perfect your new schedule, and hope you never have to register for classes again

Good luck with registration, collegiettes—we’re all gonna need it!
