It is natural to be in a bad mood. But if you find out that you’re constantly feeling this way, take some time to think about what your daily routine is and the specific reason as to why you’re feeling this way. Here are some helpful tips that can hopefully help you feel better about not only yourself but will help your mood.

1. Sleep.

I cannot stress this enough. Sleep is one of the most important things to help improve your mood. If you’ve only been getting three to four hours a night, you’re going to wake up cranky and be irritated the entire day. It will be really hard to focus in class and to make good conversation.

2. Eat healthily.

If you’re always eating burgers and fries, you’re most likely going to feel really sluggish. If you have more well-rounded meals, you will most likely feel a lot better throughout the day. You should also eat something for breakfast, so you’re not starving by the time lunch comes around.

3. Exercise.

Whenever I am super stressed or need a way to release any frustration, I find that exercising makes me feel a lot better. There is something about running for miles listening to my favorite music while soaking in my own sweat that makes me feel so much better about myself and everything that’s going on in my life.

4. Do something you enjoy.

Whether you enjoy baking cookies or watching Netflix, it’s important to make time in your life for these little pleasures. It will make you feel a lot happier.

5. Hang out with friends.

Make time for your loved ones. They can make you feel really good about yourself and you can get some time to relax with them, putting you in a better mood.

6. Do some yoga.

Yoga is really special in the way that it can help you focus on your body and your soul. Even if you’re not the most flexible, you can still enjoy yoga. I find it really rewarding to practice and practice a pose and then finally being able to master it.

7. Self-care.

Take some time at the end of the day to put on a face mask and take a warm bubble. Use this time to focus on yourself and have some alone time.

These little changes in your daily routine can have tremendously positive effects on your mood. Hopefully, you will take this advice whenever you need a little pick me up and want to lead a more positive lifestyle.
