If you are reading this—great—you are clearly already in a sorority. That means, you understand how stressful the recruitment process is. It is time to shower your rush crush with gifts; show her how much sisterly love you have to give and that she will undoubtedly have a fantastic time in GREEK LETTER GREEK LETTER GREEK LETTER.
Here are just a few suggestions of how to get started with spoiling your little:
1. Themes
Try to theme each day—perhaps one day you focus on candy, the next the beach, and the favorite band that you both share. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars, just continue to place your streamers, scatter your balloons and candy, and throw in a couple of themed scrap book products with a cute note and one themed larger gift.
2. Decorations
With amazon prime, you can order streamers, balloons, and other small products without paying for shipping or even having to travel to that far off art supplies store. Cityco, Buick Street, and CVS are all conveniently on campus and where you can find glittery pens, colorful sharpies, and construction paper for notes and signs.
3. Clothing
Look for clothes online displaying “Little Gets what Little Wants” across the chest, your Greek letters, or even find matching “Big” and “Little” bro tanks. If you are unsure of your little’s T-shirt size, try to ask her roommate, or revert to the classic Greek lettered tote bag.
4. Food
Try to borrow a friend’s kitchen for the evening, or even look up recipes online for cookies that you can make in your microwave (believe me, I have seen it been done, and they are delicious!). Make a batch of brownies, cookies, and cupcakes, and disperse them intermittently throughout the week.
5. Something Personal
This can be a corkboard that she will soon fill with pictures of sorority sisters, a picture frame for just you and her, a white board that you write her messages on, or even matching key chains for both of your BU ID cases. Even further, think about something your little has been known to love, and get her something pertaining to that rather than something pertaining to your sorority.
Good luck, and I am sure you will be finding statuses on Facebook soon that say “I have the BEST BIG EVER!”
