What You Need to Know to Pick the Perfect Pandora Station for Every Mood

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

Whenever you are ever feeling sad, happy, super psyched, in love, or even on “the munchies”, Pandora Radio has millions of stations that practically suffice all the different types of mood swings. Let’s face it: college students get moody one way or another about something big or small. Thankfully, this “goddess” Pandora delivers all music genres on such high demand. This wondrous creation allows people to listen to a plethora of songs for free that will ultimately embrace their moodiness all day long. However, Pandora tends to get antsy itself and for some reason decides to stop working since evidently most of the world is relying on its ever so loving musical power (if only everyone could have a clone of Bruno Mars. SNL?).  Well when Pandora is having a good day, here is a list of songs that I believe fall under a few collegiate mood categories. PAUSE for a minute, now hit PLAY.

Happy/Joyful

Do you ever arrive at that state of happiness and never want to let the feeling go? This could come from successfully smuggling fruit or having a class or two cancelled. Yes? Listen up:

1.     Maroon 5

2.     Ellie Goulding

3.     Michael Bublé

Sad/Frustrated

This mood is common amongst college students. Either being a break-up, bad test grade, shuttle bus running late or limited food choices at the dining halls, you need a station to plug into for comfort and help turn that frown upside down. These stations should soothe the pain:

1.     Adele

2.     OneRepublic

3.     FUN.

Psyched/Rocking out

When it is finally Friday, all you want to do is break out and GO CRAZY. Instead of worrying about homework, you just feel like jamming and getting ready for another epic weekend.  To get the party started, tune in to this selection:

1.     David Guetta

2.     LMFAO

3.     Katy Perry

Chilling/Homework Casual

Students can get bored easily while trying to concentrate on their studies. Sometimes, listening to music can add some flavor to the boredom. Music has the ability to relax you while jumping from page to page in the text or to put you at ease while working through math problems. From experience, I believe these artists do the trick:

1.     Imagine Dragons

2.     Ed Sheeran

3.     John Mayer
