If you are anything like me, you probably started counting down the days to spring on the first day of winter. The winter blues and this extremely unfavorable weather might have you opting for leggings, yoga pants, and chunky sweaters day after day, and yet, such dreary, uninspired attire doesn’t exactly lift the spirits. Have no fear – we will bring spring upon us with the help of a little wardrobe pick-me-up. Incorporate these spring trends into your style to help liven up the dull winter uniform!
Whites
Black is a no-brainer but what about nice, clean whites? Nothing says winter like a blanket of fresh snow, so embrace the whites – wear them on the bottom and the top (just not at the same time). Be brave – don’t just wear a plain, white t-shirt with a cardigan over top. Wear those white pants or maybe even that white maxi skirt – nothing could be more chic.
Print Floral
Flowers in the spring? Who knew? Sarcasm aside, print floral was all over the runways this season, making this trend even more of a no-brainer for spring wear. While some of you may be stylish and daring enough to wear this trend on a pant, many of us avoid it for fear of looking like a walking garden. Here’s an alternative way to wear the risky style: accessorize! This is always a go-to solution when you like a trend but you’re nervous about incorporating it into your everyday style.
Peekaboo
Ooh-la-la, did I see some skin showing? It may still be a bit too chilly to go all-out with this trend, but here are some ways you can show a little bit of skin without getting strange looks. Wear a sheer sweater with a cute under layer – you’ll look cute and be warm at the same time. Or, you can wear the trend during the night out with a sexy, yet classy, cutout dress that screams HOT. You could also pair a crop top, preferably long-sleeves, with a high-waisted skirt and tights (or high-waisted jeans – Miley Cyrus anyone?)
Though spring is still far off, don’t let the winter bring your fashion wardrobe down. In addition to these spicy spring trends, don’t be afraid to whip out those colors from your closet and wear them loudly – one at a time, of course.
