Best Walking Routes Around Lewisburg (For The Anti-Runner)

It’s time to spring into action and say goodbye to those cooped up hours at the gym getting no where on the treadmill or elliptical… literally! Although it may be hard to remember in the winter months, attending a school in the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania has its benefits. This includes being next door neighbors with beautiful natural landscapes- I’m talking 100 plus likes on Instagram worthy views. Please, we all know if we are getting our Netflix watching butts out of bed to exercise, we are posting a picture to let everyone know about it. Since you may just be getting back into the work out routine or are looking to get some relaxing exercise with your friends, here’s a list of some of the best walking routes around Lewisburg:

 

1.     The Buffalo Valley Rail trail

Length: 9 miles long

Directions: North 13th Street (Lewisburg) to North 10th Street (Mifflinburg)

2.     Shikellamy Overlook Trail

Length: 1.2 miles

Directions: 10 minute drive (100 Country Line Road, Selingsgrove)

3.     Dale’s Ridge Trail

Length: 2 miles

Directions: 15 minute drive (1471 Strawbridge Road, Lewisburg)

Beings at Dale/Engle/Walker farmstead

4.     Milton State Park

Length: 3.5 miles of trails (82 acre island island on the West Branch Susquehanna River)

Directions: 10 minutes away (PA 642 off PA 147 on the east, and from US 15 at West Milton)

5.     The Poetry Tour

Begins at Bucknell Hall and ends on 7th street and Moore Ave
