Have you ever been walking around Bucknell and saying to yourself, “Wow, I really wish a plate of food would just appear in front of me?” Well, if you have, you’re in for a treat. The Flying Bison is taking flight for its first lunch service on April 26th and hopefully will become a fixture on Bucknell’s campus for years to come. Bucknell is following in line with the food truck craze currently flooding the streets of metropolitan areas across the US, and students are happy to welcome the new addition to campus.
If you haven’t heard, the Flying Bison is literally supposed to be the Bison on wheels. Though, there will be items on the truck that are not found in the Bison, like an egg topped hash brown concoction, along with a variety of other options. There will also be the standard fruit cup and coffee that may be the key to holding you over until your next meal. The truck, once a linen transporter, will now happily be feeding the ever-hungry stomachs of college students throughout Lewisburg.
As a senior, I can’t help but feel a slight pang of resentment toward the fact that the Flying Bison did not arrive sooner, but hey, you win some…you lose some. Most students are especially excited, or rather nervous, for the new late-night option that will be offered on Friday and Saturday evenings. Boys are looking forward to the much needed bacon, egg, and cheese of 2a.m., and girls are dreading the spoil of their morning workouts. One thing is for certain; Veddar will soon be the new hot spot on Friday and Saturday nights. But, be safe! Don’t do anything stupid by the Flying Bison at 1:00 in the morning, because P-Safe is sure to be waiting close by. Here is a small preview of what the menu will offer…
