When you’re sick of the Bison or simply too lazy to get out of bed 20 minutes early, it is always nice to know you have the option of making an impromptu breakfast in your dorm room.
Here are a few ideas:
- Cereal and Milk: You can never go wrong with this tried and true. Not only is it super easy to throw together, but it is also a breeze to clean up. The cereal box is easy to store in a tiny dorm room, and you can even get the miniature, single-serving cereal boxes.
- Oatmeal: Oatmeal, especially in the wintertime, is a great dorm room breakfast option. If you have a hot pot, you can use hot water to make your oatmeal. If not, you can use a microwave to make it with milk. The oatmeal brands have tons of different flavors; you can go with the traditional brown sugar, or you can get apples and cinnamon. You can also add your own fruit, sugar or nuts. Additionally, this breakfast is super filling, so you won’t be hungry for hours!
- Yogurt with fruit and granola: If you want to be really healthy, you can take the route of yogurt and fruit. While yogurt can sometimes be boring, companies like Yoplait and Chobani offer some delicious flavors. Add your own fresh fruit or granola on top to make for a nutritious way to start your day.
- Scrambled eggs: If you want a hot breakfast in your dorm room, you can make scrambled eggs in the microwave. If you have a small microwave-safe bowl, crack an egg or two in it, scramble it with a fork, add a little bit of milk and maybe some salt and pepper. Microwave it for about a minute or two, and you have scrambled eggs! If you want to get really fancy, you can even add cut up veggies, too.
