Introducing…Mr. Doug Bogan!
Â
Hometown: Wilton, CT
Major: Electrical Engineering and Music
Class Year: Junior (2013)
The Basics:
Favorite Class taken at Bucknell: The Age of Alexander the Great with Janet Jones. When the basement floods, her family gets a keg and invites all the neighbors over.
Favorite Book: I don’t read often, but my favorite book of recent was This is Your Brain on Music by David Levetin.Â
Favorite Movie: Another thing I don’t do often, but Office Space. Â
Most played song on your ipod: Love Song, either the version by 311 or AdeleÂ
Favorite Place to eat on campus: The Terrace Room. I get the same thing every time– a salad with eggs, carrots, grated cheese, and honey mustard dressing. And some cake ice cream if they have it, which they almost never do.Â
Best thing about Bucknell: The people here are so kind and open-minded. Students are extremely accepting of people that are different.Â
Campus Activities: I spend a lot of time off campus working with Lewisburg high school Kids. I teach them how to be better discussion moderators . We host “Community Conversations” that debate issues relating to their lives. There are 10 high school students, and they are getting pretty good at moderating.  I am also in the Jazz Ensemble, the Concert Committee and Bucknell Student Government. I am a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and I am also a DJ on campus.  And I’m a classical pianist. That’s important. Â
Girls, Girls, Girls:
Relationship Status: Definitely single.Â
What attracts you most to a girl: They have got to be absolutely genuine and a good listener. It doesn’t hurt if they are funny so I don’t get bored.Â
Celebrity Crush: Ellie Goulding, a musician, since I don’t know many celebrities. Â
Campus Crush: Andy Watts.
The Best of the Rest: Â
Proudest Accomplishment at Bucknell: It is a tie between two things. I am proud of being actively involved with Greek life and not drinking. I’m also proud of becoming a DJ. I never touched DJ equipment before coming to Bucknell. This past summer, I checked something off of my “Bucket List”. I got a DJ gig at an outdoor club in North Carolina, and I flew there.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years: Married. I will only be wearing my green hat on the weekends. And whatever job I have, I will be happy doing it.Â
3 words: I don’t like this part. Greg, can you do it for me. (Conferring) Bearded, Introspective, and Quirky. And goofy, in a good way.  Â
