Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons that Pennsylvanians get to experience. The crisp air, the mountain ranges that turn from green to shades of yellow, orange, and red, and the local holiday favorites. Bucknell has a lot to offer for students year-round, however, it’s nice to get away from campus sometimes. The surrounding area offers a lot of fun fall activities to do!
To celebrate autumn’s arrival, here is a list of fall events to participate in:
- Ard’s Pumpkin Picking
Ard’s Farm is a classic spot for Bucknellians to go during the fall. It’s clear why as the farm offers a wide range of activities including hayrides, pumpkin picking, and a corn field maze. If you get hungry, make sure to stop by their restaurant which serves farm fresh food from 9am-6pm Tuesday through Saturday and 9am-3pm on Sunday.
- Hallo-Fun 2023
Hosted at Knoebels Amusement Resort, this event offers an abundance of sweet and spooky activities for all ages. There are dozens of games and rides to choose from. Although the park is a 40-minute trip from campus, the drive through the mountains is beautiful, especially with the leaves changing color. The remaining dates include: 10/27 (6-10pm), 10/28 (2-10pm), and 10/29 (12-5pm).
- Ghouls Day Out at Hungry Run Distillery
This Halloween pop-up party will be held on Sunday, October 29th from 12-4pm at the Hungry Run Distillery, located in downtown Lewisburg. Bring your favorite ghoul-friends and enjoy cocktails together. Feel free to dress up and participate in their costume contest where you can win Most Original Costume, Best Overall Costume, or Best Couples Costume! If you attend, you’ll be able to support local businesses and purchase products like jewelry from Dwellings Boutique and flowers from the Blooming Rooster.
- Dale’s Ridge Trail
Located right in Lewisburg, visiting Dale’s Ridge Trail during fall is perfect! As you hike, you’re immersed in the beautiful, autumnal nature of Pennsylvania. This 2-mile hike takes you up to a marvelous view overlooking the Buffalo Valley. Hiking with friends is a great way to bond or hiking solo can allow you to be one with nature.
