As autumn is continuing with the cool weather and Bucknell’s foliage is finally changing, there’s no better time than the present to don your favorite fall pieces. Flannels, cable-knit sweaters, leather boots, and fall coats are all “in the moment” staples that every girl should warm up to. Since the scenery is looking fabulous, why shouldn’t you?! Here are some tips for how to channel fall’s cozy-weather vibe in the upcoming week and what to wear to keep you both warm and fashionable:
Monday, October 17: Sunny and a high of 65 degrees. It will get warm in the afternoon, so it might be good to dress in layers since the morning will still be cool. Wearing a light cardigan and a cotton tee or tank with skinny jeans and flats or sandals makes for a cute, polished look that will keep you feeling comfortable all day long!
Tuesday, October 18: AM showers and a high of 65 degrees. Looks like it’s time for the Hunters and North Face rain coat again in the morning, but for the afternoon capris or shorts with a cute sweater will do the trick!
Wednesday, October 19: Raining and a high of 55 degrees. In my mind, a rainy day means a lazy fashion day! Give yourself a break and wear leggings and a big sweatshirt with your rain boots, or wear skinny jeans, a long-sleeved top and scarf for a cozy and cute look if the weather doesn’t seem to upset your fashion-forward mood!
Thursday, October 20: Partly cloudy and a high of 53 degrees. Today seems like the perfect fall weather day, and you should fully embrace it while it’s here! Wear your new fall coat or a cute puffer vest, then add a flannel, jeans, and leather boots for a look that says “autumn” but even more so screams “stylish”.
Friday, October 21: Partly cloudy and a high of 54 degrees; another day like yesterday. I suggest wearing a flowy sweater or cardigan, jeans, flats or a low pair of boots, and of course your cute fall coat for a slightly girly yet totally comfortable look–one that’s very relaxed and ready for the weekend ahead!
After our first full week back since fall break, enjoy a fun and relaxing weekend…you deserve it! Treat yourself to a pumpkin spice latte at 7th St., enjoy the homecoming festivities, or go to Ard’s farm and partake in the activities there to really get in the autumnal mood. However, taking time to just read a magazine, paint your nails (I’m obsessed with Essie’s “Merino Cool” at the moment), or indulge in a good piece of chocolate can do wonders after a full week. Whatever you’re doing, remember that looking good means feeling good. Never stop being fabulous!
Fashionably yours,
Jen Lassen
