Although it’s only the beginning of November, the first snow has already fallen on Lewisburg! With a wild weather weekend behind us, we can expect to go into a milder week, sans the snow. Even though this fall has been full of surprises, hopefully your wardrobe is calm, cool, and collected. The campus is looking as beautiful as ever, and the time is perfect for breaking out that new sweater, rocking your darker jeans, or pulling off the “it’s-cold-out-but-I’m-still-chic” look. In this upcoming week, here’s what to expect from the forecast so your outfits can follow suit:
Monday, October 31: Cloudy with a high of 44 degrees. Happy Halloween!! On this frightful yet chilly day, you can still wear orange and black without looking tacky. Don a burnt orange scarf or vest with a grey tee, black leggings, and boots or flats, or wear a nice black top, jeans, and accents of orange jewelry. This way, you still look cute yet festive! Make sure to bundle up, as this will be the coldest day of the week; remember that at night before going out in only a leotard or a skirt!
Tuesday, November 1: Partly cloudy with a high of 52 degrees. Since it’s the first day of November, why not celebrate fall with a cable-knit sweater? It’s a timeless look that always looks preppy and polished. Pair with skinny jeans, leather boots, and simple jewelry for an autumn-inspired look that never fails to impress.
Wednesday, November 2: Mostly sunny with a high of 56 degrees. Let the weather reflect your approach to an outfit today: since it’ll be sunny and bright out, why not take a bold approach to an outfit? Instead of the everyday jeans and a sweater, branch out and wear a fall skirt or dress, tights, boots, and your fall coat. You’ll look cute, comfortable, and polished, and with this look, you’ll definitely be sure to turn heads.
Thursday, November 3: Partly cloudy with a high of 55 degrees. Since today’s weather compares to Tuesday’s, I suggest wearing a similar type outfit yet taking a different approach to it. Try pairing a striped long-sleeved tee with a solid vest or cardigan, and adding skinny jeans a flats for style that’s traditional yet comfy.
Friday, November 4: Some showers with a high of 53 degrees. As the weekend approaches, take it easy with a pair of leggings, long sweater and scarf, and leather boots to complete the look. However, if rain starts falling, pull out the Hunters and raincoat to stay dry!
After the craziness of the halloWinter weekend, take this weekend for yourself to regroup. Sip some tea, read a magazine, and re-paint your nails (I just bought Essie’s “Wrapped in Rubies” polish at CVS downtown and am obsessed!) and catch up with your friends and family. A weekend of staying in not only does wonders for your mind and body, but for your soul as well. Plus after a weekend of relaxation, who can’t help but feel fabulous?!
Fashionably yours,
Jen Lassen
