HC Buff State: Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
Â
Diego: My biggest inspiration is definitely my mother because of her hardships in her life experiences and she managed to still be a successful woman. I believe since I’m not going through what she went through, there is no excuse for me to be successful just like her and I want to make her proud of my accomplishments.Â
Â
Â
HC Buff State: What things have you done or organizations are you a part of on campus and what have your learned from them?
Â
Diego: My freshman year I wrote for The Record on campus because I love to write but at the same time that made me realize I didn’t like the field of journalism. Being affiliated with this encouraged me to change my major and I love the field of public relations and advertising. I am also a member of Adelantes Estudiantes Latino which is a student organization on campus that has given me the feel of a home away from home because of the friendships I have built through this organization. This organization helped me meet a lot of goal-driven individuals and has helped me to be as motivated as they are. I am also a brother of Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Incorporated. This has helped me grow as an individual while appreciating all aspects of life from familial history to how I go about my day.Â
Â
Â
HC Buff State: Why did you choose to come to Buff State?
Â
Diego: I honestly came to Buffalo State because I wanted to go somewhere cold, as weird as that may sound, because I believe in the cold weather stimulating the mind. Also because my field of study is accredited, meaning a Bachelors Degree in my field of study is equal to a Bachelors Degree from a reputable school such as Vanderbilt, for example.Â
Â
Â
HC Buff State: What is one of your best and one of your worst experiences as a student here at Buff State?
Â
Diego: My worst experience at Buffalo State had to be my freshman year when I got lost and stranded in Buffalo and my phone was dead. Luckily I used a random person’s phone and my friends picked me up. I believe my best experience has yet to happen although I’ve had great experiences while attending this school. I believe my best experience will be when I graduate next year because that is a goal I have set for myself since a sophomore in high school.Â
Â
Â
HC Buff State: How would you describe your experince here at Buff State?
Â
Diego:My experience at Buffalo Is best described as a learning experience because I have learned things more than things taught in a classroom.Â
Â
Â
HC Buff State: What do you hope to do when you graduate?
Â
Diego: When I graduate I hope to go to graduate school in New York City so I can get a Master’s Degree in Communications.Â
Â
Â
HC Buff State: What has been your motivation to continue on as a student here at Buff State?
Â
Diego:My biggest motivation as a student at Buffalo State is definitely the road to graduation and how long I’ve wanted to graduate. Being the very few in my family to graduate will be a huge accomplishment in my life.Â
Â
Â
HC Buff State: What advice do you have for females here at Buff State?
Â
Diego: My advice to females is to choose your friends wisely and be yourself and not let anyone change you.
