Hello Ladies!
This article is dedicated to the most popular trend of the season, feather heels! So to all our fashion foward college gals on a budget, here’s an easy step-by-step process on how to turn your boring sandal heels to a funky new pair!
Here is a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Heels, priced at $120. It comes in ranges of colors, from blue to yellow. Cool right? Don’t feel like spending that much? Well, you don’t have to!
You can go to DSW, Steve Madden, or even Aldos, just to name a few, and purchase a less expensive pair of strappy, sandal heels. The texture of the shoe does not matter – you can either do suede, leather, or fabric…whatever tickles your fancy.
Now that you have your shoe, you will need to make a couple more purchase. It should not cost you no more than $30, and that is probably exaggerating it. But let’s just keep it at $30 to be safe.
First, you need to make a stop at a fabric store (preferably) and buy a boa. You might be able to find this at the dollar store or Party City but, a fabric store will have a wider range of colors. You can select any color you desire. Most people tend to stick to the same color as the shoe but, you can choose whatever you like – just as long as it compliments the color of the shoe.
Other than the Boa, you will also need to purchase a glue gun and glue sticks. Please DO NOT take the shortcut and purchase crazy/super glue. That will for sure be messy and mess up the fabric of your shoe.

Perfect! You got everything you need now, lets move onto the fun part!
Before actually starting, heat up the glue gun. Put it in a safe place to heat up. Once you got the glue gun plugged in, measure the boa on the top and bottom straps of the heal. Cut the Boa and set the remaining part aside. Now the glue should be hot enough to use (please do not burn yourself, keep your fingers away from the tip of the gun), quickly glue the bottom strap from end to end and place the boa on as qucikly as you can so the glue won’t dry out. Then, slightly lift the boa and run the glue on the edges of strap for a second time, lightly press on down on the boa. This will secure the piece onto the shoe. Lastly, repeat the same steps for the top straps and let the shoe sit for a while to dry. Your end product should look like these beauties! Also, you don’t have to do a just a boa. You can use a fur trim or other trimmings you like from the fabric store, Spice it up if you like! Remember, creativity is the key to success.
P.S. These same steps apply if you would like to add a pom ball to the front of your pumps!
