I’ve felt a little underwhelmed while in school. It’s my third year of my undergraduate leg of my college education and I feel like it’s just passed me by! I’m involved in on campus organizations and participate in community work but lately I’ve been thinking of staying an extra semester to get more of the “college” experience. I want to travel to uncharted regions, explore new cultures, and possibly apply for a minor. The temptation of knowing I can graduate by next Spring is really putting me at a standstill. Should I pursue another year of possible fun or graduate on time with the degree I’ve worked my butt off to get?

Well when you put it that way, the fun sounds a lot more exciting. First off, you need to look at your options; can you afford an extra semester? Or possible study abroad options? You need to look at the big picture for a moment before glancing at the snapshot. I would fully support you spending an extra semester to pursue another lifestyle; college is the best time to get out and explore the world around you, so take any chance you can get! However, I also know the temptation of wanting to get your degree and be rid of school for the moment. I would look into the minor you’re interested in and see how many credit hours you would need and if you can take any of the classes over school breaks and Summer. College is a wonderful experience; don’t feel like you have to be rushed, enjoy the ride as long as you can J.
Good luck!
