Warren junior Nik Dal Pra demonstrates the balance a college student can have between academics, organizations, and a loaded social calendar. As a Logistics major, Vice President of Sigma Pi Fraternity, a student user for SAP, and Team Leader and Human Resources assistant at Fresh Foods Company, Nik Dal Pra is the definition of a model student. When Nik Dal Pra first transferred to Central Michigan, he says, “I was a lot different. Taking leadership positions [has helped] me grow and come out of my shell.”
One of Dal Pra’s biggest roles he has now is being Vice President of Sigma Pi. On a day-to-day basis, he supervises the operations of the fraternity from things like philanthropy to social events. He oversees 12-15 committee heads as part of his responsibilities as VP. “Being Vice President, and just being on [executive] board in any organization, is a pretty stressful job,” Dal Pra says. Before he was Vice President, Dal Pra served as Sigma Pi’s philanthropy chair. As philanthropy chair, Dal Pra helped organized all of the fraternity’s philanthropic events such as arranging for them to have a table for Donate Life Michigan. With that, Dal Pra and brothers of Sigma Pi helped people sign up to become organ donors. Sigma Pies was another new philanthropy event he helped to organize. At Sigma Pies, the fraternity raised around $4,000.
While Dal Pra finds himself busy with fraternity business, he still has time to have a job on campus at Fresh Foods. From all of the positions Dal Pra has held in Sigma Pi, it has help him branch out to be a leader in other parts of his life, as well. As a Team Leader and Human Resources assistant for Fresh, it has helped him use his experiences with leadership in the workplace.
As a Logistics major, Dal Pra finds his growing knowledge of SAP to be extremely helpful for his future. Central Michigan is the only school that offers the SAP TERP10 Certification. Being a part of that group, students are visited by different companies on a weekly basis. Dal Pra says, “SAP and Logistics go hand-in-hand, and that can help me in the future with whatever I decide to do.” Dal Pra also recently received an internship offer from Target where he will be working with the Logistics and Operations team.

Dal Pra took part in the ERPsim Competition this past Thursday as a member of a group of four representing Dow Chemical. Â There were 40 teams total that competed.
Aside from all of the things Dal Pra has accomplished, he also a college student and still knows how to have fun. He enjoys hanging out with his fraternity brothers and having a good time. He enjoys traveling and trying new foods.
The advice Dal Pra would give his 18-year-old self would be is “[to] break up with your girlfriend, focus more on school, and get out of your shell more.”
