Using a face mask has become a ritual for all of us girls. Being in college, we don’t always have the funds to order our favorite Clinique mask from the nearest Nordstrom, so what’s more convenient than mixing together a few ingredients you probably have laying around your apartment to make a DIY face mask? There are a few different options, depending on what sort of results you’re looking for.

To clarify skin: Mix together 1 teaspoon of raw honey, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of nutmeg. This mask is super good for clearing any blemishes your skin may have, and if used regularly, it can prevent future breakouts. Keep this on for 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

To smoothen skin: Mix together ¼ cup of milk, 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and ½ teaspoon of warm, raw honey and let it chill in the fridge for a bit. Honey is a natural antibacterial agent and can even moisturize the skin. Keep this on for 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

To brighten skin: Mix together ½ of a squeezed lemon and 2-3 tablespoons of honey. This one is awesome to prepare for summer! Lemon helps brighten your overall complexion and diminish dark spots for an even, glowing skin tone. Keep this on for 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

To exfoliate skin: Mix together ¼ of a mashed avocado, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 slice of squeezed lemon and 1 teaspoon of olive oil. This not only exfoliates dead skin cells away, but also moisturizes due to the honey in it. Keep this on for 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
