We’re all guilty of being obnoxious on Instagram at some point or another. Take a hint on what’s hot and what’s not on the app you check out daily!
1. The Love Bird
Listen up Instagram users! “Man Crush Monday” and “Woman Crush Wednesday” are two trends that started off as a chance for ladies and guys to show off their celeb crushes, but for some of you, it has transformed into an excuse to post pictures of your boyfriend or girlfriend…weekly. Nobody wants to start their week off by scrolling through a series of pictures of you and your boo! Occasionally, posting a picture of you and your man or woman is totally acceptable, but every day of the week is a tad excessive! Save the pictures of you and your other half for anniversary’s or date nights; you want people aweing at your pics, not rolling their eyes! Avoid this Instragram faux pas that annoys more of your followers than you think.
2. Gym Junky
There’s nothing wrong with taking pride in the fact that you go to the gym, but whether you’re a guy or girl, constantly flaunting your workout time isn’t necessary. Rather than posing in front of mirror in your sports bra and tennis shoes, try a before and after pic once you’re gym time has paid off! As for guys, keep the gun show pics to a minimum, please.
3. Selfie Central
There’s no doubt that we all look to Instagram for a confidence boost every once in a while with the occasional “selfie.” With that said, there’s no reason to be the person posting a picture every other day. Confidence is important, but after taking three or four too many selfies a week, your followers will start to get the idea you’re either cocky or worse — desperate for likes! Either way this is definitely an Instagram don’t.
4. One Event, 20 Pics
Five pictures later, your followers get it…you’re still at the same party. Don’t mistake instagram for a Facebook photo album focused on one event. Pick three favorites, apply a filter and move on with your night!
5. Party People
There’s nothing smart about posting drugs or alcohol on any social media site. Instagram is just as accessable to employers as Facebook and Twitter, so be careful with what you post! Not only does drunk picture taking have potential to jeopardize your future, but it doesn’t represent you in a very positive light! Keep it classy and avoid posting sloppy pics whether you’re a guy or girl!
6. Seasonal Stereotypes
There are a few things to expect when fall rolls around: Halloween, Thanksgiving and a series of Instagram pictures featuring boots, leggings and/or a pumpkin spice latte. Change it up ladies! Shy away from the typical picture trends and let your followers see something that isn’t being posted by every other female in their feed.
