As we are fortunate enough to attend college in Travel and Leisureâs âNo. 1 City in the World 2016,â of course, we want to make the most of our time here in Charleston! Between on and off-campus adventures, you are sure to find something to do anytime you have the chance.Â
- Visit Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie
- Take a horse-drawn carriage tour downtown
- Go for a walk to the Pier and The Battery
- Take a class with more than 70 people
- Take a class with less than 30 people
- See the fossils in the Science and Math Building (second-floor museum)
- Visit one of the many beautiful churches on a Sunday morningÂ
- Have a picnic in Marion Square
- Stay in the Library until they close at 2 AM and get kicked out by a security guardÂ
- Walk or run the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge (check out the annual bridge run!)
- Find out when a cruise ship is going to be in port and see it from Waterfront Park
- Go inside the fancy hotels, like Hotel Bennett and The Francis Marion
- Window shop (or really shop!) on King Street
- Meditate in the Cistern between classes
- Purchase a sweetgrass rose from the Market
- Visit at least one plantation
- Study in Stern Gardens
- Learn the name of someone who works in the dining halls
- See the Angel Oak and eat at the Stono Market and Tomato Shed Café
- If you are of age, grab at drink at a rooftop bar. Bonus points if you do it at night
- Have a spontaneous dance party in your room with your roommates/suitemates
- Visit the South Carolina Aquarium
- See the H.L. Hunley submarine
- Tour one of the most haunted places in America, the old jail
- Get pizza from Gilroyâs after midnight, go back to your dorm, and eat it during a movie
- Spend a day at the beach and play in the waves without regard to your hair
- Eat off campus at least once for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Attend a Citadel parade
- Go to a CofC basketball game at TD Arena
- Take a selfie with Clyde in Cougar Mall
