Name: Houston PearceYear: SophomoreMajor: Double Major in Business Administration and Hospitality and Tourism ManagementHometown: Charleston, SC
What are you involved in on campus:Â “I’m the Vice President of Member Education for Beta Theta Pi, Vice President of Best Buddies CofC, Facilitator for Greek Emerging Leaders, and Charleston Forty tour guide.”
That’s a lot! How to you balance your time between school, four clubs/organizations, and a social life?  “To be completely honest, it’s sometimes a challenge. I’m very lucky in that there are social components to my fraternity, Best Buddies, and Charleston Forty. It’s also convenient that most of my close friends are involved with these organizations, so we hang out between meetings and events.”
What is your favorite part about being involved in these clubs and organizations? “For Beta, my favorite part is being surrounded by incredible gentlemen who are also my closest friends. For Best Buddies, my favorite part is knowing that I’m making a positive difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; that’s been one of my goals since sixth grade. For Charleston Forty, my favorite part is that I get to help prospective students make the critical choice of where to attend college, and it makes me so glad when I see my “tour kids” on campus the following semester.”
Are there any upcoming events that you are excited for? “I’m excited for the initiation of our new Betas on Thursday and the Best Buddies Spring Fling on April 18!”
