Many students at Cabrini have on-campus jobs or partake in extracurricular activities and Tyohnah Nicole White is one student who has figured out how to balance them all. As a second-semester freshman, she has been able to get involved and manage her time wisely.
She works in the mail room, where she delivers mail, stamps packages, checks mailboxes and helps FedEx with packages. She also works at the Center for Career and Professional Development, helping out with internships, handling paperwork and doing other tasks.
When not working, she participates in the Black Student Union, which she says helps her embrace and learn more about her culture and acts in theater. She played Rheba in last semester’s production of “You Can’t Take It With You.” She also participates on Cabrini’s tennis team and has been playing tennis for five years.
“I balance all my activities by multitasking, praying, socializing and thinking about my goals at the end of the day,” she said.
These goals include pursuing a career in film directing. This semester she is taking a scriptwriting class, which she hopes will help her to achieve this goal. Some other goals of hers are becoming a better tennis player and embracing who she is as a person.
Her advice to other students? “If you want something, you have to go and get it.”
